Jim Dineen, Blue Demons Basketball Club

Introduced to the game in Blarney Street C.B.S. before embracing the game with DePaul Boys Club. Jim went on to become a founder member of Blue Demons in 1966, coaching for several years before becoming an administrator with the club. He also served time as a secretary to the Cork County Basketball board and on the Men’s Super league Club Committee



Sean Murphy, Blue Demons Basketball Club

An underage player with Iona, in 1968 he joined Blue Demons where he won a national league, championship and a Federation cup. Capped as player at international level where he also later coached. Following his playing retirement in 1983 Sean went straight to coaching Blue Demons (Team Britvic) to a Super league title. Always generous with his time Sean continues to assist the County Board with their development clinics.


John Houlihan, C.C.B.O.A

Has given countless service to the game both as administrator, teacher, and officiator. Referee at the top level of the game and has spent over 20 years helping develop young officials along with being an officer of the C.C.B.O.A.


Noel Ryan, East Cork Glenmary Basketball Club

Another man of many attributes Noel commenced initially with his playing careers at St. John Bosco’s before relocating to Carrigtwohill for his job. There he was instrumental in the formation of E.C. Glenmary and a school team. He also was an accomplished referee on the national stage




Noel Allen. Neptune BC

A Neptune stalwart with basketball to his core. Accomplished coach who brought through many players that we know today. Noel also refereed who officiated at many championships and international tournaments.



Jim O'Donoghue, Neptune BC

Another member of the O’ Donoghue Family who has kept the heartbeat of Neptune alive. After a successful playing career became an integral part of the stadium project and a member of C.C.B.O.A.


Michael “Fox” Sullivan, Mallow Basketball Club

Michael Sullivan has developed and nurtured the game of basketball in the Mallow since the 1980’s. Coaching at all grades since that time he has seen Mallow grow in stature in both the female and male side of the club.


Donal O’Donoghue, Neptune BC

One of the first civilians to help the progress the game of basketball. Holder of numerous officer posts within Neptune and the County Board and Chairman of the Munster Council on a few occasions.
