Cork Indoor Sports awards
The Metropole Cork Indoors Sports Award were held last Friday the 15th of May 2026. The awards which recognise those involved in the participation and promotion of Indoors Sports. The sports recognised at the awards this include our own sport of basketball, bowls, boxing, darts, gymnastics, handball, judo, karate, men’s and women’s rings, special Olympics and taekwondo.
Players, coaches, volunteers and their families gathered to celebrate these achievements and Cork County Basketball board were delighted to have two of its board members nominated for awards, Stewart Joyce and Kevin Ginn. The Indoor Sports Association acknowledged both men’s commitment to their sport, with Stewart being acknowledged in particular for his contribution to C.C.B.O.A and his earlier playing career. With Kevin being acknowledged in particular for his coaching and administration in his hometown club, East Cork Glenmary. They were also both acknowledged as respected administrators in the current County board.
